Collaboration Reimagined on BluePoint 

OS National’s intranet, BluePoint, had become a significant source of frustration for employees, creating challenges that impacted productivity and trust. Without clear ownership or governance, the platform was filled with outdated information, undermining its credibility as a reliable source of truth. Employees frequently struggled to locate essential resources, as the intranet’s clunky navigation and outdated design failed to meet their needs. What should have been a tool for enhancing efficiency and communication had devolved into an organizational pain point.

 

Refreshing BluePoint posed several challenges. The absence of consistent management meant addressing years of neglected updates and structural inefficiencies. There was a pressing need to redesign the platform while simultaneously ensuring it could provide seamless navigation and an engaging user experience. Rebuilding trust among employees required not only a functional upgrade but also a strategy to reestablish BluePoint as a dependable, user-friendly hub for accurate and accessible information.

Implementation

The transformation of BluePoint began with a site audit. ​Insights from the audit guided a comprehensive redesign. The new BluePoint featured a modern, branded look and feel aligned with OS National’s identity, streamlined navigation with clearly labeled sections for HR resources, company news, policies, and quick links to commonly 

requested tools and resources make locating information effortless. Additional functionality enhancements and a dedicated content owner ensured BluePoint was updated on a regular basis and the platform was reintroduced as a centralized source of truth.​​

The Results

Enhanced Trust: BluePoint became the go-to source for accurate, up-to-date information, improving overall employee satisfaction.

Improved Efficiency: Search times for key resources decreased as employees could now locate information quickly.

Sustained Management: The governance model ensured regular updates and prevented the platform from becoming outdated again.
